I'm taking an online Udemy class! (C# survival Guide)… it's my first online class ever (and got it on sale 90% off)… so I'm excited. which then opens a warpgate, enters then we wee a Strategic map view of the entire galaxy in the year 40,000K.

We see the Icon for the Imperial Frigate Arnold. the landmasses stand out a bit more in the Strategic view. Here we see a Voidship blasting away from a planet, we see 3 gigantic Hive cities on the planet with lots of traffic going on between. my "practice game" but using all the parts and code I'll need for my "dreamgame".… I don't care if it's "paper dolls with nacelles and saucer sections", I just wanna build some starships.40K fangame. The ships of Star Trek are one of it's greatest assets, and the success of the TrekYards youtube show highlights this. Is anyone else as nostalgic about these games as I am? Does anyone miss them? Perhaps I'm the only one, or perhaps there's a missed opportunity here. And the "simulation" bits of the game, where you sent your ship out on (not very good) scripted missions, assigned your own equipment and crew (including yourself, if you imported your photo into the game and slapped a uniform template on top) added a bit of Sims-like enjoyment to the game. Something like that, I assume, at least, would be relatively easy to make compared to a "full" game. Why haven't we seen a re-make or re-imagining of the Starship Creator series? It's not like the technology isn't there. I know that the most likely response to this post will be suggestions for STO, but I think players of the original Starship Creator games will understand why it's just not the same. It seems more limited in scope, and frankly doesn't have a ton of options. Yes, there's STO, but for some reason it doesn't scratch the same itch. Even using Virtual Machines, they just don't play "correctly". Nowadays, those games won't run on modern systems. I sunk hours and hours into what were essentially glorified flash games.

I loved the Star Trek Starship Creator "games" growing up.
